STYLING WEDDINGS - SUMMERLEES, SUTTON FOREST - FLUFFING FEATHERS

Issue No.12 November 2013

WEDDINGS & CELEBRATIONS

Wedding Flowers, decorations & Styling by Patty Maouhtouris,

owner & wedding director of Summerlees, Sutton Forest

Fluffing is a term that Stylists refer to as the last minute details that need to be done. Just before the wedding starts... there is a lovely quiet time when everything is perfectly positioned and in place ready for the event. This is time before the caterers arrive, the florists have finished their displays and all their buckets & floral mess has gone. The waiters are quietly preparing the bar and co-ordinating the drinks for a the arrival of the guests. Table settings are in place and waiting for a little last delicate spray of water on the flowers. This is the most perfect time to capture images of the room before any of the guests arrives and move the chairs. I love this time, I had a window of a half an hour to photograph this gorgeous setting before the bride arrived...and I captured Patty fluffing... straightening a little place card and checking that everything was perfectly ready for the special night ahead, even her peacock was fluffed and ready!
